Next week, our Student Ambassadors will be starting a whole-school fundraiser called Cash For Caninesto help benefit Rainbow Animal Assistant Therapy. This program is Chicagoland’s oldest and largest animal assisted therapy organization and are 100% volunteer based. Rainbow Animal Assistant Therapy uses trained, registered therapy dogs to help people improve their quality of life, and every dollar donated supports the therapy these people receive. The dogs have a Hanover Community impact as well; a few of them have visited our primary grades to enjoy a good book during the Hanover Hounds Book Club! You can learn more about this organization here.

Starting on Tuesday, January 23rd and ending on Friday February 2nd, Champ the Hanover Husky and some of our Student Ambassadors will be visiting grade-level homerooms during lunch to collect coins or cash of any denomination. Each grade level will have TWO total collection days during the fundraiser. From the money collected, there will be two winners:

  • The students in the GRADE that raises the most money will each receive a colorful husky paw keychain
  • The students in the CLASS that raises the most money will have a visit from two of the therapy dogs at the end of a school day. Look for the puppy profiles on a bulletin board coming soon!
